About

The one and only "indigo dyed nubuck leather" perfected over time

Born from approximately six years of conception and development, indigo-dyed nubuck leather is a special material that combines tradition and innovation.

This leather was completed by overcoming the difficulties inherent in indigo dyeing, as well as the delicate process in which the finished leather depends on the base, resulting in a deep color and soft texture not found in traditional indigo dyeing.

The delicate grain is created by the high temperature drum. Furthermore, the surface is carefully scraped to create a raised texture that feels soft and comfortable in the hand, with a soft, fluffy feel. The dyeing process is more extensive than usual, and the nubuck processing is painstakingly carried out, resulting in a unique and rich texture.

The more you use it, the more the grain will settle and a subtle sheen will appear on the surface. The color will also gradually deepen and darken, developing a unique look. Enjoy the texture of the leather itself and the depth of the indigo color as the fur changes.

About

Awa Indigo Dye x Diamond Python

Snake leather finished using the Awa True Indigo Dyeing Method, an intangible cultural property designated by Tokushima Prefecture.

The indigo dye from the Awa region is considered to be of high quality among indigo dyes, and is highly regarded as "true indigo" due to its refinement, and is known worldwide as "JAPAN BLUE."

The raw material, indigo, is fermented and then added to the dye to be dyed.

Since the fabric cannot be dyed in one go, the dyeing and drying process is repeated many times, resulting in the deep color that is unique to natural indigo, which is very appealing. The color also changes over time, becoming deeper and more lustrous.

The snake leather is from a diamond python, also known as a reticulated python in Japanese. It is said to be the longest reptile in the world, with some species growing up to 10m in length.

It is called the diamond python because it has diamond patterns all over its body.

Also, because the scales on snake skin are integrated with the skin, they do not fall off like fish scales, and the standing scales settle down with age.
