Indigo from the Awa region is considered high-quality Awa indigo among indigo dyes and is highly regarded as "Sho-Ai" (true indigo) for its refined quality, known worldwide as "JAPAN BLUE."
The dyeing process involves fermenting the indigo raw material and then immersing the leather in the dye.
Since it cannot be dyed in a single go, the process of dyeing and drying is repeated many times, creating a captivating depth of color unique to natural indigo. Over time, it will develop an even deeper color and luster.
The snake leather is diamond python, also known as reticulated python in Japanese. It is considered the longest reptile in the world, with some growing up to 10 meters.
It came to be called "diamond python" due to the diamond-shaped patterns covering its entire body.
Also, the scales of snake skin are integrated with the skin, so they do not peel off like fish scales. The raised scales will settle down with aging.
