Badalassi Carlo is a world-renowned tannery based in Tuscany, Italy.
We use "Pueblo Leather" which is carefully crafted using the traditional 'Vacchetta' method from carefully selected shoulder leather from cows over two years old.
The Vacchetta method is a traditional Italian technique with over 1,000 years of history. Without the use of any chemicals, cowhide is carefully tanned with vegetable tannins, and then highly pure cow leg oil is slowly added. This time-consuming and labor-intensive process gives the leather a moist texture and a rich, rich feel.
Furthermore, the oil-rich leather surface is brushed with sandpaper and a brass brush to create a smooth, matte finish at first. The more you use it, the deeper the color will become, developing a beautiful, lustrous sheen.
The main component of cow leg oil, oleic acid, is a natural moisturizing ingredient found in large amounts in human sebum. It blends naturally with the leather, protecting it from drying out and losing too much moisture, so it will stay soft and moist for a long time.
The appearance changes over time and it feels comfortable as if it is sticking to your hand.
