We use "Pueblo leather," carefully crafted using the traditional Vacchetta method from the finest shoulder parts of female cattle over two years old, selected by Badarassi Carlo, a world-renowned tannery based in Tuscany, Italy.
The Vacchetta method is a traditional Italian technique with over 1,000 years of history. It involves slowly adding highly purified beef tallow to cowhide, which has been meticulously tanned with vegetable tannins without the use of any chemicals. This time-consuming and labor-intensive process gives the leather a moist texture and profound character.
Furthermore, by applying a unique brushing process with sandpaper and a brass brush to the surface of the oil-rich leather, it initially has a smooth, matte texture. As it is used, the color deepens, transforming into a lustrous and beautiful sheen.
Oleic acid, the main component of beef tallow that permeates the entire leather, is a natural moisturizing agent also found abundantly in human sebum. It naturally blends into the leather and protects it from drying out or losing too much moisture, ensuring it remains moist and soft for a long time.
