It's a basic design that highlights the beauty of cordovan.
"Shinki Hikaku Cordovan"
Shinki Hikaku's Cordovan is made from raw hides transported by sea from Europe, undergoing a long period of maturation and tanning.
This horsehide is meticulously scraped from the dense fiber layer found only in the horse's hindquarters, then undergoes further maturation and drying, taking a total of 10 months of extensive time and effort to finish.
It is a high-quality leather known as the "King of Leather" or "Diamond of Leather" due to its unique luster and rich texture.
Oil cordovan undergoes a glazing process after being dyed, which creates its transparent beauty, luster, and deep color.
The surface subtly reveals the raw texture of the leather, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike.
Please enjoy the aging process with continued use.
"Pueblo Leather from Badalassi Carlo"
Pueblo leather, an Italian leather, is produced using the vchetta method by Badalassi Carlo, a world-renowned tannery in Tuscany, Italy, using the shoulder part of raw cowhide from cows over two years old.
The traditional Italian vchetta method, with over 10 centuries of history, involves vegetable tanning without any chemicals, and slowly enriching the cowhide with highly purified "beef tallow."
High-quality Italian leather infused with oil is then brushed with sandpaper and a brass brush.
Initially, it has a smooth, matte texture, but with use, it develops a deeper color and an excellent sheen.
Furthermore, the oil that has permeated the entire leather makes the surface incredibly soft and comfortable to the touch, and protects the leather from some water and dryness.
This is due to the effect of "oleic acid," the main component of beef tallow.
Oleic acid is resistant to deterioration and drying, maintaining an appropriate moisture level inside the leather and preventing it from becoming too dry and stiff.
